Wedding at Canopy Creek Farm in Miamisburg, OH
Recently, I had the pleasure of doing some catered items for a Wedding at a farm venue. Canopy Creek is about 45 minutes north of Cincinnati. A charming setting and a beautiful barn for guests to enjoy the best of a rustic farm feel and modern amenities.
My clients had Mazunte, a fantastic fresh Mexican restaurant cater in the main meal. A taco and salsa bar. They wanted to provide guests with fresh salads and some appetizers.
That’s where I came into the mix. When we met back in April, I came up with a few ideas for salads. We decided on a mini salad that people could just pick up at the buffet. I like to think of them as grab & go salads. Mixed greens with radish, jicama, green apple and a choice of a chipotle dressing or a french vinaigrette. The grab & go salads turned out perfect and looked so great on this vintage cart that was provided by Cincinnati Rustic Rentals.
We needed to discuss appetizers and I suggested charcuterie. After talking about a few items, a Spanish inspired board became the choice. Serrano ham, chorizo, manchego cheese, gouda, citrus spiced olives, marcona almonds, roasted chickpeas, an assortment of crackers including gluten free options. The bride is a huge shrimp cocktail fan and even has a favorite local sauce she wanted to use. Barnsider cocktail sauce is spicy and a perfect compliment to this classic hors d’oeuvre. My sweet little shrimp cocktails, some Traditional sauce, some Spicy, turned out to be a hit and disappeared.

A few weeks before the wedding, my clients numbers came in and they had about 30 kids coming. A Kids Charcuterie board was born. Everything they like to snack on was provided. Pepperoni, cheese sticks, ritz crackers, fruit, and goldfish crackers of course. I was so pleased to see kids plates full and smiles.
If you like what you see, the food, venue, props. Please contact me for more information.
